The full form of MLA is “Member of the Legislative Assembly”. A member of the Legislative Assembly is a representative elected by the voters of a constituency to legislative assembly members. Most often, the term refers to a subnational assembly such as that of a state, province, or territory of a country. Still, in a few instances, it refers to a national legislature.
MLA is a member appointed by the voters of a district to the legislature of the State under the Indian government and the voters nominate MLA. In India, there may be four to nine MLAs in each state for every MP (Member of Parliament) that it has in the Lok Sabha. The full form of MLA has been described above.
